Look inside you!

"ज़र्रे ज़र्रे में उसी का नूर है
झाँक खुद में वो तुझसे दूर है
इश्क है उससे तो सबसे इश्क कर
इस इबादत का यही दस्तूर है
इस में उस में और उस में है वोही
यार मेरा हर तरफ भरपूर है "

In every speck, is his light…Inside you, is his presence so bright. If you love him love everyone around you…for he is there in everyone…

I have been haunted by this topic ever since I saw Delhi 6, but an article about this young college student actually evoked me to organise my thoughts. DELHI 6, a movie not liked by most and not understood by others. I do not intend to say try or prove I am smarter than those 100 people who did not like the movie, but i do hold a point of view and would like to share it.

An NRI who has come to India probably for the first time sees immense love and the engulfing hatred in a very short period during his stay in Delhi. He sees people living together, helping each other siding with each other through thick and thin. People from different religion who have for generations felt a sense of togetherness and how a little thing changes their perspective ever so drastically pushing them to a stage where this fight against the so called black monkey becomes a fight for religion. Something that created a divide so wide between them that no one could cross.

It is also a story about young Muslim jalebiwala who is in fact a hanuman bhakt. About two brothers who hate each other so much that they partition their house into two and yet cannot keep away from each other when they see pain and about their younger sister who is probably still unmarried because neither of the brothers is ready to shed so much money for her wedding; then there is "Jalebi" the pretty lower caste women who every man secretly wants to sleep with and yet condemns her presence publicly, heights of hypocrisy. The poor " gober" everyone thinks is ever so dumb but in fact turns out to be smarter than most and my favourite the "fakir" who had just one message to give a message i cant get off my mind….

Beautiful isn't it? The crazy fakir everyone would rather make fun of let alone listen to... had so much to say. With a mirror in his hand, he said so much... more than any man would in a lifetime.

Life is to cherish. It is more meaningful than to make it into a war of “egos”. I ask you why then there is hardly any love left in people? Wars, battles, terrorism... when it happens it is talked about and all over the news… However, people forget... a few months and all is forgotten. People get back to living their lives like they never cared and like nothing happened, ever! Arushi murder case, Priyadarshini Mattu, and the more recent the terrorist attack in Mumbai.

Let’s just talk about Rang de Basanti… what was the moral of the story? Go kill your defence minister? At least that is what most people made it out into…

Coming back to the news paper article that got me thinking i mentioned in the beginning? A young medical college student was ragged to death... A cute looking boy whose looks probably became the primary reason for his death, but his good looks cannot possibly be an excuse...Doesn’t it sound outrageous boy who goes to a medical college with a dream of saving lives is killed?

I do not know if there is something called an after life or reincarnation. As far as I know you have to pay your sins right here in this mortal world!

How people become what they become, have you ever thought about it? I do not think there is any reason attached to it, only one thing i have to say regarding all this and a lot more... we become what we want to be and what, we make of ourselves...

मन से जो रावन निकाले राम उसके मन में है... The choice is yours.

Completely agrred with the points you picked up from the film....what has happened with the people is we had expectations from the much hyped film and also from Omprakash....and where you have more expectation, more it hurts in the end. The film surely has a a message but it has been overshadowed by poor direction and ramlila scenes. Keep writing more...!!!

Really well written... Taken inspiration from the film which many people saw just to see the Chick Dance... Appreciable... :)

One thing I can say is that u could have included topics besides those covered in the movie and death of the boy... There is a lot happening in the country with over 1,147,995,000 people...

amazing! what you've written is really amazing, and the way uve put ur point across too.. i havent seen delhi6 so after i see it will comment on tht part but im definitely gonna see it after what uve written about it.. but i agree with everything else u say.."अपने अंदर झांक, खुदा भी तुझमें है और शैतान भी" - This is so true.. ppl are so quick to point to others but very rarely do they look inside themselves!
